Two years’ imprisonment against a graffiti artist !<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rashed Tamboura, a student of Tunisia’s Arabic Calligraphy University, practises graffiti, abstract art, and interior design, is a member of the ultras groups who professes the typhus drawing and has been in prison since 17 July 2023 against the background of graffiti.
The 27-spring youth was referred to the meaning of chapter 67 of the Tunisian Penal Code (which we recall was issued under an order since 1913) after writing political slogans on the walls criticizing the Tunisian authorities’ handling of the migrant file in Tunisia.
Since his suspension, he has been protesting in prison against his illegal referral, which violates his right as an artist to express his attitudes in the creative and artistic ways he exercises.
Two times he went on hunger strike and sewn his mouth again in an attempt to lift this darkness, and the authority did not respond to his family’s repeated calls, nor to the demands of artists, activists and civil society organizations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Notably, he was sentenced at first instance to two years’ imprisonment (maximum available sentence). His sentence was confirmed at the appeal hearing to serve a maximum of 9 months’ imprisonment, which can be extended until the expiry of the sentence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Deux ans de prison contre un graffeur !<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rashed Tamboura, \u00e9tudiant de l\u2019Universit\u00e9 de calligraphie arabe de Tunisie, pratique le graffiti, l\u2019art abstrait et le design d\u2019int\u00e9rieur, est membre des groupes ultras qui professent le dessin du typhus et est en prison depuis le 17 juillet 2023 sur fond de graffiti.
Le jeune de 27 ans a \u00e9t\u00e9 r\u00e9f\u00e9r\u00e9e \u00e0 la signification du chapitre 67 du Code p\u00e9nal tunisien (dont nous nous souvenons qu\u2019il a \u00e9t\u00e9 publi\u00e9 sous un ordre depuis 1913) apr\u00e8s avoir \u00e9crit des slogans politiques sur les murs critiquant la gestion du dossier des migrants par les autorit\u00e9s tunisiennes en Tunisie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Depuis sa suspension, il proteste en prison contre son renvoi ill\u00e9gal, ce qui viole son droit en tant qu\u2019artiste d\u2019exprimer ses attitudes de mani\u00e8re cr\u00e9ative et artistique.
Deux fois, il a fait la gr\u00e8ve de la faim et s\u2019est recousu la bouche pour tenter de lever cette obscurit\u00e9, et l\u2019autorit\u00e9 n\u2019a pas r\u00e9pondu aux appels r\u00e9p\u00e9t\u00e9s de sa famille, ni aux demandes des artistes, des militants et des organisations de la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 civile.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Il a notamment \u00e9t\u00e9 condamn\u00e9 en premi\u00e8re instance \u00e0 deux ans d\u2019emprisonnement (peine maximale disponible).
